The theme of “Look back in anger” is isolation which is applicable to today’s world as it was, in contemporary England in the 20th century. Europe saw a fall after the end of the war and gave hopes of a new age where social stratification will no longer be prevalent. But in reality this did not occur as stratification and opportunity denial were still present.
